What are cosmetic injectables?
There are 2 main types of aesthetic injectables:
Neuromodulators which decrease muscle movement to prevent and minimize wrinkles
(Dysport, Botox, Xeomin, Jeuveau, etc)
Volumizers to improve loss of fat and to restore structure.
(Restylane, Radiesse, Skulptera, etc)
By design, cosmetic injectables minimize the signs of aging effectively, but there are distinct differences in the types of products, how they are injected and the amounts used for each patient to achieve the desired results. APMA prefers using the Galderma line of products as their complex characteristics are capable of addressing all aging and rejuvenation problems comprehensively and work together for beautiful, natural results.
Your APMA provider will discuss what your unique beauty plan will be to result in the best outcome possible based on your realistic expectations. We strive to harmonize the face & often that is done with more than one syringe.
How to know which type of injectable you need?
Dynamic wrinkles form where your muscles’ regular movement creates folds in your skin. These dynamic wrinkles, if untreated, become static wrinkles which are obvious when muscles are resting. Some of the most common dynamic wrinkles are:
But those aren’t the only facial folds that come with age. Natural fat and bone loss cause deeper wrinkles and creases, such as seen with nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and chin creases, to name a few. Additional issues caused by this same volume loss are:
Feeling like you look tired
Used in combination, Dysport® (the equivalent to Botox®), Restylane Fillers (Hyaluronic Acid) and Sculptra® (Collagen Inducer) return this volume loss in a natural-appearing rejuvenation when injected properly and in adequate amounts. One syringe of filler or 20 units of Dysport just doesn’t cut it in the majority of cases.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How do cosmetic injectables work for dynamic wrinkles?
Dynamic wrinkles develop because the muscles below the skin contract repeatedly as you make facial expressions. Small, targeted injection of Dysport®, Botulinum Toxin A (similar product to Botox®) temporarily weakens these muscles, to smooth the wrinkles without a “freezing” effect that many patients dread. Extinguishing movement looks fake, keeping some movement looks rested and natural. APMA recommends the use of Dysport with Restylane dermal fillers and Sculptra to improve the results. These products really work together.
Dysport® starts to kick in around 3-5 days with full results completed at 2 weeks and usually last 3 1/2 to 4 months. Research supports that Dysport® lasts a bit longer, acts quicker and looks more natural than the well-known Botox® product. They are both Botulinum Toxin A, in any case.
APMA includes complimentary touch-ups in 2 weeks to assure patient satisfaction and outcomes.
How do cosmetic injectables work for volume loss?
Understanding facial volume loss is tricky, knowing how to create a beautiful and natural result takes a skillful and artistic provider. APMA explains the process and the amount of product needed for outstanding results, which in many cases, requires at least 3-5 syringes. Instead of charging by the syringe, which is typical in this aesthetic industry, APMA creates affordable memberships which include the ideal amount of product and the stacked skin technologies that build dermal (skin) health which will only make your injectables last longer and enhance results. APMA does this through a detailed consultation which includes facial measurements with calipers and detailed discussion about how results will evolve.
Dermal fillers, no matter the manufacturer, are pricey. By combining them with skin technologies, in short term memberships, it really acts like a financing option that gives you monthly treatments and the volume replacement without digging too deep into your pockets. APMA's short-term Aesthetic memberships secure a partnership with our clients for close follow up and complete rejuvenation with a natural and lasting result.
